Artist's Description:
heeeeey babe
your supper's waiting for you-hooo :o
a little zomburdie, enjoying some brainfood.
inspired by and therefore i suppose dedicated to my favourite zombiebird, rainbow cemetery.
i guess crit is welcome on this, but it wasn't really supposed to be hyper-realistic or anything. advice on how to get the scanner to stop mangling marker colours might be nice, really.
Usually with my scanner I just have to sit there in photoshop for an hour adjusting the brightess/contrast hue/saturation levels manually until it looks close to the same, or until I'm happy.
the problem is that just with the scanning alone, i lose a lot of colour depth. i mean it's just not there. :B the whites of the feathers here have a range from the copic c0 to c2, but you can only see the c2. the tail feathers not only have two layers of a deleter pale lilac and pale violet, but some c2 as well.
I'll be honest I use a million colors in one block of color, and a lot that never comes through right...
BUT
What helps is on my scanner there is a 'professional mode' that does a simple basic scan of the entire page. It comes out dull as heck but it helps show the color range, and THAT can then be adjusted in photoshop.
